The cyber police in Ukraine play a crucial role in maintaining cybersecurity and enforcing laws related to cybercrime. Recently, significant cases have emerged, such as the exposure of embezzlement schemes involving procurement contracts in Dnipro and the illegal sale of personal data of over 300 million Ukrainian and EU citizens. The department has been proactive in combatting cyber threats, notably halting a second wave of the Petya cyberattack in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine and Kyiv's prosecutor's office. To strengthen their operations, additional roles within the cyber police are being introduced, enhancing their capabilities to address ongoing threats. The public's interest is evident, with a record number of applications submitted for cyber police positions. Continuous efforts by the cyber police ensure the resilience of Ukraine's digital infrastructure against cyber threats.
