Thus, in Transcarpathia, servicemen of the Border Guard Service Department "Bogdan" of the Mukachevo Detachment together with specialists of the Rakhiv Mountain Search and Rescue Department of the State Emergency Service rescued a violator who asked for help.
A 24-year-old resident of Kirovohrad region intended to illegally enter Romania. He chose a highland section of the border to carry out his plan, but was unable to cross the border. The search, complicated by high snow cover and poor visibility, lasted over 7 hours. The offender was found 10 metres from the border.
It is noted that the man was so cold and exhausted that he could not even speak. He was dressed in dry, warm clothes, given hot tea and handed over to doctors, who diagnosed him with general hypothermia and dehydration. He is currently in intensive care.
