NABU launches proceedings on transfer of UAH 23bn to SBGS from MoD for ammunition purchase - sources

Transfer of UAH 23 billion to State Border Guard Service for ammunition. NABU opens proceedings

The NABU has launched proceedings over the transfer of 23 billion to the State Border Guard Service from the Ministry of Defence for the purchase of ammunition.

This was reported by Censor.NET' s sources in law enforcement agencies.

"Based on the media publications, the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office first registered the materials in the URPTI. And after a number of requests, we also entered them," the source said.

On 29 November, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 1191-r, which allocated UAH 23 billion for the purchase of shells for the State Border Guard Service.

The initiative was taken by the Ministry of Defence.

According to an article by Tetiana Nikolaienko on Censor.NET, the Ministry of Defence unofficially explained this by saying that the DPA had not made budgetary commitments for this money and therefore decided to spend it before the end of the year.

Instead, the DPA stated that it had contracts for this amount.

The State Border Guard Service did not say whether it had any other offers besides the Polish company.

In addition, the companies provided 100% subscriptions.

For some items, for example, the price of the 120-round ammunition is close to the market average, while for the 152-round ammunition it is close to the highest offer on the market.
