In the Kherson region, law enforcement officers conducted 19 searches to shut down arms trafficking channels. The seized items include firearms, grenade launchers and explosives.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kherson region, Censor.NET reports.
"Kherson police, under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, conducted 19 simultaneous searches of persons involved in the above crimes in the de-occupied territory of the region as part of a large-scale all-Ukrainian special operation aimed at closing down the channels of illegal sale and storage of weapons and ammunition, as well as preventing them from falling into the hands of criminals," the statement said.
As a result, the police seized various types of weapons, including weapons of war:
- three firearms;
- two grenade launchers;
- 15 grenades;
- 4585 rounds of ammunition of various calibres;
- almost 26 kg of explosives;
- four other ammunition for different weapon systems.
The seized items also included money, criminally obtained goods and drugs.
In addition, the police clarified that "one of the offenders was documented selling a grenade launcher and a rocket-propelled grenade for UAH 25,000".
Two men were detained over these facts.
