The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police stopped a number of attempts to illegally sell weapons and explosives in different regions of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.
As a result of comprehensive measures, 15 people were detained who were trying to sell "trophy" weapons to criminals, including sniper rifles, combat grenades, AK-12 assault rifles, as well as TNT and anti-tank mines.
As noted, the detentions took place in Poltava, Zakarpattia, Kherson and Bukovyna regions. In particular, an underground weapons workshop was found in Poltava region, and several people were detained in Zakarpattia who were trying to sell explosives and weapons from the fighting.
In addition, a person planning to resell anti-tank mines from the de-occupied territories was detained in Kherson region, and a demobilised soldier who brought trophy weapons from the frontline was exposed in Bukovyna.
Law enforcement officers served the detainees suspicion notices for illegal handling of weapons and ammunition (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The offenders face up to 7 years in prison.
All seized munitions will be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for further use.
