Law enforcement officers exposed a group of criminals who manufactured counterfeit batteries on an industrial scale under the guise of products of well-known global brands.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Communications Department of the National Police.
It was established that the illegal production operated in several regions at once - Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Lviv. The criminals used professional equipment, produced packaging with international brand logos, and sold counterfeit goods wholesale and retail.
Law enforcement officers identified the organizers, executors, printers, and even the administrator of the online store through which the counterfeit was sold.
During large-scale searches in Kyiv, Odesa, and other regions, equipment for packing batteries, printing materials, more than 37,000 counterfeit batteries, and raw materials worth over UAH 2 million were seized.
The products were sent for examination.
A criminal proceeding was also initiated under Part 3 of Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal use of a trademark). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the classification of the offense may be expanded.
