Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi visited the brigades defending the Novopavlivka sector (Donetsk region).
He said this on Telegram, Censor.NET reports.
This is due to the "intensification of the enemy's actions", he said.
"The enemy is intensifying offensive actions in this area, trying to break through the defences of our troops and capture three settlements. However, we have taken a number of measures to improve the interaction of military units and subdivisions, regrouped troops, which slowed down the enemy's advance in most threatened areas.
At the command posts, I listened to the commander of the Donetsk operational and tactical grouping, Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, and the brigade commanders on the conduct of combat operations, existing needs and problematic issues. He gave all the necessary orders to resolve them," the statement said.
Syrsky stressed that the occupiers' plan has remained unchanged for 3 years - to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region.
"However, the enemy's losses are only increasing, and their plans remain unfulfilled. Our soldiers inflict maximum losses on enemy personnel and equipment.
I express my sincere gratitude to the defenders of Ukraine for their efficiency, courage and resilience," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concluded.
