The SBI has completed a pre-trial investigation into the director of a private company that supplied a military unit in the Dnipropetrovsk region with substandard military clothing worth UAH 140 million.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SBI press centre.
As noted, the indictment has been sent to court.
According to the investigation, the commander of the military unit concluded a contract for the supply of clothing with a private company without a tender and with an advance payment of 30% of the total contract value.
"After the prepayment, the military unit received only a part of the quality clothing, and almost 140 million hryvnias worth of clothing was delivered that did not meet any quality standards and put the defenders in danger. The unit's leadership, despite the risks, signed the necessary documents and made full payment for the low-quality goods," the statement said.
In early January 2025, an indictment against the unit commander was sent to court.
He is accused of negligent attitude to service, which caused grave consequences, committed under martial law (Article 425(4) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 8 years.
Compensation for damages
In order to compensate the state for the losses, 3 land plots, 2 residential buildings and 3 apartments in Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions were seized from the military.
The investigation into the head of a private enterprise has also been completed.
She is accused of misappropriation of another's property by breach of trust (fraud) committed under martial law, in a particularly large scale, under Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
