In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Zaporizhzhia, a 44-year-old man threw a strikeball grenade and shot upwards during the check of documents of citizens of military age.
This was reported by the press service of the Zaporizhzhia regional police, Censor.NET informs.
According to law enforcement, an unidentified man approached the inspection site, fired a gun upwards, threw a grenade at the police and fled. No one was injured. Explosive experts found that the munition was a airsoft grenade.
The offender was promptly identified and detained at his place of residence with the participation of KORD officers. During the search of the man's apartment, garage and car, the law enforcement officers found and seized almost 20 rounds of ammunition, two equipped magazines, two smoke bombs and other material evidence.
The search for the gun used by the detainee is ongoing. He was served a notice of suspicion under Part 4 Article 296 (hooliganism) and Part 1 Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
