Several devices and aids to facilitate the use of domestic and foreign small arms and grenade launchers on military equipment and stationary positions have been codified and approved for use in the units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The devices were developed and manufactured by Ukrainian gunsmiths.
According to Censor.NET, with reference to the Ministry of Defence, this was reported by the Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.
In particular, a mortar stand for the Mk 19 40 mm automatic grenade launcher, a small infantry tripod for the Browning M2 heavy machine gun, a universal mount, and a pickup truck rack have been approved for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Mortarboard tripod
It is noted that the mortar tripod created by Ukrainian engineers allows grenade launchers to use weapons along hinged trajectories from closed positions. The device has a robust design and running screws that ensure stability and smooth adjustment of the vertical and horizontal aiming angles. Throughout the entire vertical adjustment range, the horizontal adjustment plane remains horizontal, i.e. without blocking the axis of rotation.
Small infantry tripod
The small infantry tripod is a domestic analogue of the original foreign-made tripod for heavy machine guns. It can be easily folded and installed in a stationary position. With additional adapters, it can be used with a wide range of machine guns and grenade launchers.
Universal cradle mount
The universal mount optimizes the mounting of weapons on infantry tripods, vehicles, watercraft, armored vehicles, ground robotic systems, or automated turrets. When used with a large-caliber machine gun, the design reduces recoil, which results in higher accuracy and less mechanical and vibration impact on the aiming devices.
Universal rack
The universal rack is designed to equip vehicles with large-caliber machine guns with a pickup body. The design has an offset from the center of the mounting to compensate for the length of the weapon, convenient positioning of the gunner in the body, and the ability to work with two axes of rotation. Rotating units have special bushings that do not require maintenance and lubrication. The mounting unit provides quick mounting/dismounting/replacement of the weapon together with the stock.
