The SSU foiled another attempt by the FSB to carry out a terrorist attack in Ukraine. As a result of a special operation, a Russian agent who was preparing an explosion near the TCR in Kherson was detained.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, on the instructions of Russia, the terrorist was to leave a bag with an improvised explosive device (IED) at the entrance to the military administrative building. At that moment, the Russian intelligence service planned to detonate the explosive remotely with its agent.
The SSU officers exposed the hostile intentions in advance and detained the offender red-handed when he was near the site of the planned terrorist attack.
According to the investigation, the executor of the occupiers' order was an unemployed resident of Cherkasy, who came to the attention of the FSB through Telegram channels looking for "quick" money.
After completing enemy "test tasks" in Cherkasy region, where he set fire to Ukrzaliznytsia facilities, the agent was "sent" to Kherson to prepare a terrorist attack. There, he received the geolocation of the cache, from which he then took the finished IED.
The traitor also installed a special programme on his phone, with the help of which the FSB tracked his every move.
In this way, the Russian secret service planned to find out about the agent's whereabouts in order to blow him up with explosives near the TCR.
The SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- p. 2 Art. 113 (sabotage committed under martial law);
- p. 2, Art. 15, p. 2, Art. 258 (attempted terrorist act).
The offender is in custody without the right to be released on bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
