The Lorandit small-sized electronic warfare system, developed and manufactured by the Russian NIIDAR-Sphere, was officially adopted by the Russian Army in 2019.
However, it is worth noting that Lorandit was repeatedly spotted in the occupied part of the Ukrainian Donbas even before the full-scale invasion.
The main purpose of this complex is electronic reconnaissance and suppression of radio frequency sources. The complex can search for and locate radio frequency sources in the frequency range from 20-30 to 2000 MHz. According to various sources, the operating frequency scanning speed is 50-65 MHz/s.
The Lorandit is based on the chassis of the well-known Bukhanka, or UAZ-452. It is easily identifiable from the air thanks to its distinctive round base for antennas mounted on the roof of the vehicle. The cost of the complex exceeds RUB 20 million.
