In Uzhhorod, internal security operatives of the Chop Border Guard Detachment, together with the SSU and the State Bureau of Investigation, detained a serviceman who, in return for a USD 5,000 bribe, promised to assist a serviceman in illegally crossing the state border.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service, Censor.NET reports.
As noted, the border guard was supposed to pass on routes, information about engineering fortifications, the location of patrols and technical equipment in the area where he was serving. He was detained while receiving $4,000 as part of the agreed amount.
During the search, money and a mobile phone were seized from him. The serviceman was served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code (illegal transfer of persons across the border) and Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code (obtaining an undue advantage by an official). The court imposed a 60-day custody as a measure of restraint with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 181,680.
