During his visit to Ukraine, Pastor Mark Burns, spiritual adviser to US President Donald Trump, met with soldiers who defended Azovstal.

This was announced by Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Asman, Censor.NET reports.

"An important and touching meeting took place at the Central Synagogue of Ukraine! Together with Pastor Mark Burns, President Trump's spiritual advisor, we were honoured to receive true Heroes - the defenders of Azovstal. Those who held the defence in the darkest days, who became a symbol of the indomitable Ukrainian spirit, who were severely wounded but did not give up," said Asman.

The defenders told Pastor Burns their harrowing memories, "they talked a lot about the power of faith during the war, about resilience, about hope, which is born even in the most difficult moments," the chief rabbi said.

The heroes stressed that many of Azovstal's defenders have been in Russian captivity for more than a thousand days.

"The pastor was very deeply touched and impressed by the courage and kindness of the defenders, and I am sure he will take these stories and impressions with him and carry them further into the world!" Asman added.
