He embezzled UAH 11 million on supply of low-quality military uniforms: MP will be tried in Kirovohrad region - SBI. PHOTOS
The State Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with the SID of the National Police, completed a pre-trial investigation into a deputy of one of the city councils of Kirovohrad region who, together with his accomplices, supplied low-quality clothing to the military.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation, Censor.NET informs.
According to the investigation, the MP, who was also the owner of a private enterprise, used the upcoming procurement of clothing for the military from Kherson region for his own enrichment. He involved an acquaintance, whom he appointed director of the company under his control, and an accountant in the fraud.
It turned out that the dealers bought cheap clothes without the relevant certificates from the Ministry of Defence, which only resembled military uniforms but did not meet the quality and functionality requirements. As a result of the supply of low-quality clothing, the state suffered losses of more than UAH 11 million, and the offenders planned to embezzle almost UAH 10 million more.
Law enforcement officers stopped the scheme in time. All three defendants were taken into custody.
The MP and his accomplices are charged:

seizure of property through abuse of office;

drafting and issuing knowingly false official documents;

committing an offence as part of an organised group (Article 191(5), Article 15(2), Article 15(3), Article 28(1), Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanctions include up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. The assets of the suspects were seized for UAH 25 million to compensate for the losses.
Earlier, the SBI completed an investigation into the director of the Department for Civil Protection and Defence Work of the Kherson Regional State Administration, who purchased these low-quality clothes through tender procedures.
