Ukraine has prepared five specialised pre-trial detention centres and colonies for the detention of extradited persons - they are located at a safe distance from the combat zone and have updated infrastructure.
This is reported by the UP publication, Censor.NET informs.
The institutions are located in the Chernivtsi, Lviv and Zakarpattia regions.
According to the photos published by the publication, you can see the renovated premises, including rooms, kitchens and bathrooms.
These institutions have already created more than a thousand places to hold convicts in accordance with Ukraine's international human rights obligations.
In each case of extradition, Ukraine will provide confirmation that the person will be held in one of these institutions. In addition, the relevant work has already begun or will soon be completed in six more such institutions, the publication writes.
