Last night, Russia deliberately targeted residential buildings, educational facilities, and critical infrastructure. Today, the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil regions were under massive enemy attack.
This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, on Telegram, according to Censor.NET.
According to him, about 500 rescuers and over a hundred pieces of equipment are currently working at nine active locations.
Strike on Ternopil
"The situation is most serious in Ternopil. Two 9-storey residential buildings have been critically damaged. One is on fire, and the other has been destroyed from the 3rd to the 9th floor. As of 10:00 a.m., there are 10 dead and 37 wounded (including 12 children)," the report says.
Rescuers continue to evacuate people from blocked apartments.
"There are people under the rubble. We are working as carefully as possible - every minute can mean a life saved," he said.
It is also noted that Klymenko sent the head of the State Emergency Service, Andriy Danik, to the city.
"I am keeping the progress of the rescue operations under constant control. I am reporting to the state leadership," he added.
Aviation, mobile rapid response centres, Delta, dog handlers and heavy engineering equipment are being deployed. Forces from neighbouring regions are being brought in. Psychologists are also working on site.
Resilience Centres have been set up, and mobile kitchens are providing people with hot meals.
Police officers are recording every piece of evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation against civilians. Tents have been set up where victims can file reports and seek help.
"The police may restrict access to damaged facilities — please comply with the established rules. This is solely for the safety of people and the preservation of property," the minister explained.
Consequences in other regions
- Three people, including two children, were injured in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
- In the Lviv region, firefighting operations are continuing at several warehouse locations with a total area of over 10,000 square metres. All of these are civilian facilities.
