We are increasing unmanned component of assault troops and Territorial Defence Forces, - Syrskyi. PHOTOS
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Ukraine continues to expand its drone units and implement new technological solutions.
He announced this on Facebook, according to Censor.NET.
The current war is a competition of technologies
"The current war for Ukraine's independence has become a competition of technologies, and unmanned systems play a leading role in this competition. The winner will be the one who gains and implements a technological advantage on the battlefield," he wrote.
We are on the right track. In January, the unmanned units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces reduced the Russian army by almost 29,700 soldiers, while the enemy was only able to recruit 22,000 people in a month.
This is the difference we are striving for: to destroy more soldiers than Russia can put into service. This is the effectiveness of our UAVs, which, if further increased, will force Moscow to end its war of aggression.
Held a monthly meeting on the development of unmanned systems, their combat missions, and the application of new technologies in this field.
During January:
- Unmanned aerial vehicle units hit 66,200 targets.
- ground-based robotic systems carried out almost a quarter more missions than in December;
- We continue to maintain a certain advantage in the use of FPV drones.
At the same time, in many areas, the enemy is at least keeping pace. He listened to a detailed report from a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate on the development of the Russian Federation's unmanned systems forces.
The enemy has planned the following for this year:
- an increase in the number of our USF troops by 79,000
- Bring the number of Russian unmanned forces to 165,000
The Russians have already adopted their own interceptor drones and are increasing their production, testing the Geran-4 and Geran-5 jet drones in combat, etc.
Solutions to counter Russian UAVs
All this encourages us to seek our own revolutionary technological and management solutions to counter Russian UAVs and overcome the enemy's echeloned air defence.
- We are increasing the unmanned component of our assault troops. Additional battalions of unmanned systems will be added to the staff of separate assault regiments.
- We are also continuing to strengthen the unmanned component in the brigades of the Territorial Defence Forces.
During the meeting, I listened to representatives of combat units and military command bodies about their experience in using UAVs, modern management approaches in this area, and solutions to problems that arise during the operation of specific UAV models.
The discussion focused on specific technical innovations and other proposals that could be scaled up in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
There are concrete results in the development of unmanned systems
We have much to be proud of in the development of unmanned systems. There are achievements and concrete results. I see the commitment of commanders in the field of UAVs. Their unique experience in combat operations and the use of technology needs to be accumulated and disseminated throughout the Armed Forces. I have set appropriate tasks in this regard.
Syrskyi thanked everyone involved for their contribution to Ukraine's unmanned systems. For destroying the enemy and bringing our victory closer.
"Special thanks to the infantry soldiers of all the Armed Forces of Ukraine, those who hold their positions and destroy the enemy in close combat. The struggle continues. Glory to Ukraine!" Syrskyi wrote.
