Details

According to the investigation, the border guard used social media to find men who wanted to avoid mobilisation and leave the country illegally. For $3,000, he promised to organise the transport of his "clients" by taxi outside the official checkpoints to the state border during his shifts.

The men were then shown a place where they could cross the river and enter Romania.

Law enforcement officers exposed the border guard and detained him during negotiations with a potential "client."

The soldier is currently charged with abuse of influence.
