As noted, an enemy drone struck the last carriage of a commuter train travelling from Slatyne to Kharkiv.

"Immediately after the danger signal, the train crew and a number of passengers proceeded to the modular shelter deployed at Slatyne station, which saved lives," Ukrzaliznytsia emphasised.

One fatality

The company also notes that, unfortunately, one person has died.

"According to preliminary information (which is being verified by investigators), the deceased refused to evacuate to the shelter. Once again, we appeal to all passengers: please do not disregard safety rules and strictly follow the instructions of railway staff.

"We continue to provide services to communities near the front line – this is a complex task that requires mutual responsibility and trust," added "Ukrzaliznytsia."
