They were preparing Russian strike, in particular, on home of head of the State Emergency Service: SSU detained spotters in Kyiv and Odesa. PHOTO
One of the FSB’s undercover agents has been detained in Kyiv; Russian security services had kept him on standby for 12 years.
This was reported by the SSU press service, according to Censor.NET.
What is known?
Since February 2026, the man had been gathering coordinates for a targeted Russian missile strike on Kyiv, specifically on the home of the head of the State Emergency Service (Andriy Danik – Ed.).
Who was working for the enemy?
The task was carried out by an IT specialist from Mykolaiv who had been recruited by the enemy. It has been established that Russian special services recruited him back in 2014 and ‘put him on hold’ for future tasks.
Recently, the Russian special services "activated" the agent and instructed him to move to Kyiv to gather data on public figures against whom the Russian Federation was planning sabotage and terrorist attacks.
Well-known politicians and representatives of Ukraine’s security and defence command were "in the enemy’s sights".
The agent was to track the addresses and movements of potential "targets" and report this to his handler in Moscow.
To carry out the enemy’s mission, the suspect made new acquaintances, whom he then used "behind their backs" to obtain intelligence.
"Very often, the perpetrator operated under the guise of providing private services for the administration and maintenance of computer systems. He would then extract the 'required' information under the pretence of casual conversation.
He later recruited another IT specialist – a resident of Odesa – to assist with his subversive activities.
Together with his ‘colleague’, they created a whole network of informants who ‘leaked’ data on the deployment of Ukrainian troops," the statement reads.
The SBU detained an enemy collaborator in a rented flat in Kyiv. His accomplice in Odesa was also detained.
During searches, smartphones containing evidence of work for the FSB were seized from the detainees.
Both have now been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
