An explosion occurred in Hungary, and a fire broke out at a plant owned by MOL, the country’s largest oil and gas company.

Prime Minister Peter Magyar reported this, Censor.NET informs.

"An explosion occurred at the MOL plant in Tiszaújváros. One person was killed, and several were seriously injured," he said.

Energy Minister István Kapitány, together with Zsolt Hernádi, are heading to the scene.

The Telex media outlet has released photos of the aftermath.

Experts are currently investigating the cause of the explosion.

According to media reports, ambulances and rescue helicopters are arriving at the scene. Windows were blown out in some buildings near the plant.
