Two powerful earthquakes have struck Venezuela, killing at least 32 people and injuring around 700.

It is known that a state of emergency has been declared in the country. The earthquakes caused destruction in several states.
The country’s acting president, Rodríguez, stated that the death toll could rise as rescue workers continue to search through the rubble of collapsed buildings.
The Simon Bolivar International Airport near Caracas has been damaged as a result of the earthquakes. Metro services and gas supplies have also been suspended.
Meanwhile, according to Reuters, the US Geological Survey says the death toll could exceed 10,000, though official figures on casualties are coming in slowly.
