Two residents of the Kramatorsk district have been found guilty of high treason (Article 111(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They have been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the press centre of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
What is known about the traitors?
It is noted that one of the men lived in Druzhkivka. In January 2025, he was recruited to carry out espionage via Telegram by an acquaintance who was fighting on the side of the Russian Federation. Initially, he passed information to an intermediary, but later began communicating directly with his handler – an officer of the Russian Federation’s FSB.
The man set up his main observation post in a neighbour’s flat and obtained additional information during conversations with acquaintances. Over the course of seven months, he transmitted 23 messages, thanks to which the enemy received data on the locations of:
- personnel and armoured vehicles of the Defence Forces in Druzhkivka and Sloviansk;
- ammunition depots and storage facilities for fuel and lubricants in Kramatorsk;
- checkpoints, artillery systems and air defence systems;
- defensive positions, dugouts and fortifications.
A second informant from the village of Krasnotorka began collaborating with the enemy a month later. He also maintained contact with a serviceman from the aggressor state’s army and passed on information to him regarding the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment in the Kostyantynivka and Lyman communities, as well as minefields and engineering barriers.
The man sent text messages and screenshots of maps via the banned social network ‘Odnoklassniki’. Despite his attempts to deny his involvement in the crime, prosecutors fully proved his guilt.
