Early this morning, Russian occupying forces attacked Sloviansk with guided aerial bombs.

"Today, 26 August, at 04:20 a.m., the enemy carried out an air strike on Sloviansk. Explosions were heard in the city centre. It is likely that guided bombs were used," the statement reads.
Information regarding possible casualties is currently being ascertained.
According to the State Emergency Service, one person was killed and five others were injured as a result of Russian airstrikes on Sloviansk.
"Thirteen apartment buildings were damaged by the shelling. Rescuers extinguished a fire in two outbuildings and contained a fire in a company building," the statement said.
While extinguishing the fire, rescue workers were forced to suspend operations due to the threat of renewed shelling.
Additionally, during the renewed shelling, two garages caught fire, and five more apartment buildings were damaged.
As a result of another enemy attack, 15 private homes were damaged. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
