A monument to Pavlo Petrychenko, a soldier, volunteer and community activist, has been unveiled at Askold’s Grave in Kyiv. The soldier was killed on 15 April 2024 whilst carrying out a combat mission.
According to Censor.NET, thiswas reported by the Darnytsia District State Administration in Kyiv.
"In Kyiv, the memory of Pavlo Petrychenko – a soldier, volunteer, community activist and resident of Darnytsia – was honoured with the unveiling of a monument in his honour at Askold’s Grave," the statement reads.
The memory of this defender lives on in the Darnytsia district too – one of the streets has been named after Pavlo Petrychenko.

As a reminder, Sergeant Pavlo Petrychenko of the 59th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and an activist was killed on 15 April 2024 during fighting against Russian invaders in the Donetsk region.
At the start of the full-scale invasion, he was involved in setting up Serhiy Prytula’s volunteer centre, and by April 2022 he had joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In late March 2024, he raised an important issue with the public and launched a petition calling for restrictions on online casinos for military personnel during martial law, which garnered over 26,000 signatures. Following this, President Zelenskyy announced that measures were being prepared to regulate the operation of online casinos in Ukraine.
Petrichenko was the commander of a UAV squad in the 59th Mechanised Infantry Brigade. He was awarded the ‘Iron Cross’ by Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
On 8 May, Petrychenko was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
