Russian spy apprehended in Rivne, - SBU. PHOTOS+VIDEO
Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) officers apprehended an agent of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces in Rivne.
Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the SBU.A spy turned out a Ukrainian citizen currently residing Russia. His task was to recruit a senior staff officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The agent was supposed to offer Russian citizenship and money to a Ukrainian officer and his family for "secret" and "top secret" data regarding training, armament and deployment of Ukrainian soldiers and Ukraine's military cooperation with foreign partners. The amount of money should depend on relevance and importance of the military secrets.
A Ukrainian soldier who received this offer from the Russian special services got in touch with the SBU.
The Russian spy arrived to Ukraine on Oct. 7 intending to get the data. The next day he was apprehended while receiving a USB flash drive with misinformation.
