Decision to distribute "Vova’s thousand" is populism and neglect
The decision of the President and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskyy to give each Ukrainian 1,000 hryvnias is:
1. A crime against the defence of the state:
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief publicly states that he takes money from soldiers at the front to bribe voters. The government fails to provide the army with basic mavics, autels, electronic warfare equipment, ammunition, vehicles and other items, thousands of Ukrainian citizens die for lack of these items, and the government gives away money to raise its rating.
The enemy is capturing our cities and villages every day, and the frontline needs help. If we assume that 30 or 40 million Ukrainians will receive a thousand each, we need about 30-40 billion hryvnias. To understand the scale, 40 billion is about 450,000 daily Mavics. For 40 billion, the entire Ukrainian army can be fully equipped with all types of drones for six months, all units. Why should the military continue to beg for weapons and for the defence of Ukraine on the Internet if there is money in the budget?
2. Suppression of business for the sake of populism:
The president and his "servants" passed a law to increase taxes on entrepreneurs, and it turns out that the tax increase is being used to finance the upcoming election campaign.
3. Discrediting the state in the eyes of foreign partners:
At all levels, Ukraine is asking the international community for money to defend itself against Russia, and the government is spending part of this money on the president's political campaign rather than on the war.
4. Hypocrisy:
Prosecutors and other tens of thousands of special civil servants receive tens of thousands of hryvnias in pensions every month, while Zelenskyy gives ordinary people a one-time payment of a thousand hryvnias to quell public discontent.
The decision to distribute "Vova's thousand" is a disregard for the Ukrainian army, for the people who are going to their deaths, for society, business, taxpayers, and President Zelensky must immediately cancel it and send all the funds to the accounts of the Armed Forces and the National Guard.
