Loss of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk will lead to new attempt to force Ukraine to surrender
At this point, only Andrii Biletsky, commander of the 3rd Corps, can take responsibility for this battle.
The enemy is storming the Chobitok Forest and several other strategic high ground positions on the eastern outskirts of Sloviansk, and if we retreat from there and the enemy deploys its UAV positions on these heights, the tactical advantage will shift to the enemy, and Sloviansk-Kramatorsk will begin to be gradually lost.
Sloviansk–Kramatorsk is the most advantageous natural defensive line; the capture of these cities will lead to the loss of the Donbas.
As a result, the US and Europe will once again attempt to force Ukraine to capitulate through negotiations with the Russian Federation by cutting off funding to Ukraine, as the loss of the Donbas will serve as a compelling argument that the course of the war cannot be altered.
And the state leadership and military commanders who allow this to happen will go down in Ukrainian history with the most negative reputation imaginable.
Who will take on such responsibility and resolve this critical situation?
Responsibility means not simply taking up a post, but planning the battle, concentrating reliable assault units, organising UAV combat formations and turning the tide of a battle that will continue both this year and next.
This is not a matter of searching for yet another ‘messiah’; it is a simple calculation.
The flank of Biletskyi’s corps is the Donbas and Lyman, where he is holding the front line and where the enemy cannot advance a single step.
Thus, Biletskyi’s area of responsibility could be expanded; his forces are nearby, and he could reinforce the Sloviansk sector with his reserves. The commanders of the 3rd Corps will help to organise the battle formations of our troops based on their successful experience.
It is clear that not only the corps responsible for Sloviansk but also the corps responsible for Kostiantynivka needs to be placed under Biletskyi’s command, as the enemy is advancing along this entire front and defence is required across a wide front.
The situation in the 11th Corps is difficult, but there are forces there fighting under difficult conditions: soldiers from the 54th, 81st, 10th, 18th and other units of ours renowned for their history; Oleh Liashko’s 432nd UAV Regiment is currently operating there — one of the best on the front line at eliminating Russian infantry. Smart command and control, coupled with reinforcements, can turn the tide of the fighting.
Only by streamlining command and organisation at the front can we now turn the tide of a battle that is currently not going in our favour.
