The water level in Kherson has already risen by two metres as a result of the Russian occupiers’ blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. In the worst-case scenario, we can expect the water level to rise by up to five metres.

This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Water Management Authority, Oleksandr Prokudin, Censor.NET reports. According to his forecasts, after the maximum rise, the water will go into the estuary and the sea and the situation will improve.

Oleksandr Prokudin also noted that the worst situation is currently in Kherson, in the Ostriv neighbourhood, where more than 800 people had to be evacuated.
