Work of artillery and infantry in Vuhledar direction. VIDEO

The Vuhledar direction is important for the counter-offensive: firstly, it is a major transport hub, and secondly, it is the direction to Mariupol. Ukrainian artillerymen and infantrymen showed how they work on Russian positions, which are sometimes a kilometer away.

This is stated in a new story of"Ukrainian witness", Censor.NET reports.

The artillerymen are armed with a 122mm D-30 trailed howitzer. It was developed in the USSR in the late 1950s. This howitzer is one of the most massive artillery systems of the post-war period - it can fire on enemy buildings, infantry, and vehicles at a distance of up to 14 km.

The infantry can call in artillery support at any time of the day or night. According to the gunners, not long ago they destroyed a Russian Grad MLRS and hit the enemy's command and observation post with a direct hit. A few moments after we fired our cannon, the Russians returned fire, but fortunately, no one was hurt.

To get to the infantry positions, the journalists walked (and sometimes ran) through a dangerous area: Russian helicopters fly here and attack our positions from the air up to 6 times a day.

"When the shelling starts, which threatens our lives, we turn to the artillery for help," says a soldier named Andrii.

The infantrymen demonstrated their domestic know-how - a remote turret. It was developed by one of Lviv's IT companies. Compared to a conventional turret, this one is safer, as the gunner can be in a dugout while firing and observe from there.
