Zelenskyy on 30th anniversary of Budapest Memorandum: "Just signature of any state, any assurances or promises are not enough for security". VIDEO

In a video address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that "assurances or promises" from any country cannot be a guarantee of security.

According to Censor.NET, the video was published on the President's Telegram channel.

"Today is the 30th anniversary of the Budapest Memorandum. Ten years of war. This document has not worked for a single day. And because of this, everyone in the world will now know that just the signature of any state, some assurances or promises are not enough for security. We need effective guarantees. That is, a real alliance and a realistic security foundation within the country. Weapons that allow you to defend yourself and deter the enemy. And unity, which helps to survive even in the most difficult moments. We are working on each of the security elements. Thank you to everyone who helps! Thanks to all our people who provide all this!" - the statement reads.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine published an official position that Ukraine will not accept any alternatives, surrogates or substitutes for Ukraine's full membership in NATO.
