A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group captured a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces, who had previously served his sentence in a penal colony, in the area of Tiotkino, Kursk region. In a conversation with the Ukrainian military, the prisoner told about the lawlessness he faced in a Russian prison and how he was forced to take part in the war against Ukraine.

The Russian stated that he had been imprisoned for stealing three bags of potatoes, for which he was sentenced to four years in prison. However, he did not have to serve the full term - instead, he was sent to the war as part of a programme to recruit prisoners to serve in the Russian Armed Forces, Censor.NET reports.
