Mayor of Pokrovsk, Trebushkin, recorded appeal to Zelenskyy: "Make peace and let people live". VIDEO
The mayor of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, Ruslan Trebushkin, addressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Russian, calling for a peace agreement because "people are tired of fighting and everyone wants peace".
According to Censor.NET, he posted the video message on his Facebook page.
According to him, some local residents are still staying in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad despite the shelling, lack of heating and central water supply.
"Talking to these residents, I hear from everyone: 'Peace, peace, peace', but the statistics say otherwise, the statistics that our president says say that the majority of Ukrainians want war," Trebushkin said in a video message in Russian.
Trebushkin insists that both the people and the military want peace, and so he calls on the Ukrainian president to conclude a "peace agreement".
"People do not want to fight, they are tired. The same soldiers who are on the front line, who have not been replaced for a long time, want to go home, they want you to give them peace. Vladimir Aleksandrovich, we believe in you. Make peace and let people live," he said.
It should be noted that Trebushkin never mentioned Russia in the video. He also did not say where he was, as he has not been active in public since 2022.
In the comments under his video, many users were outraged by this statement and wondered why the official still did not speak the state language.
