President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the Italian Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni to develop a joint action plan to end the war with a just and sustainable peace. The meeting took place in London on the eve of the European leaders' summit.
The head of state announced this on Telegram, Censor.NET reports.
"No one is interested in the continuation and rapid return of the war, except Putin, so it is important to maintain unity around Ukraine and strengthen the position of our country in cooperation with our allies - the countries of Europe and the United States," Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine needs peace backed by reliable security guarantees.
The President also thanked Italy for its constant support and partnership in bringing peace to Ukraine.
The presidential press service said that the key topic of the meeting between Zelenskyy and Meloni was coordination with partners to develop a joint action plan to end the war with a just, sustainable peace.
The leaders discussed the importance of unity around Ukraine and strengthening our country's position in cooperation with our allies - the countries of Europe and the United States. They also discussed the provision of reliable security guarantees to Ukraine and the whole of Europe.
In addition, Zelenskyy and Meloni discussed the formats of new contacts for consultations between European countries and the United States.
