During 30-day ceasefire, plan to end war may be developed - Zelenskyy. VIDEO
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for a phased plan to end the war. One of its aspects will be a 30-day ceasefire.
He said this during a briefing, Censor.NET reports.
I think today we need to focus on the first steps to achieve a ceasefire — to achieve truce. As for whether we are ready for a ceasefire or a truce — we have made that clear and said 'yes.' The question is whether the Russian side will be ready for it. Secondly, whether our partners are technically prepared to monitor it. This is a very important aspect.
I’ve been open about this: if we are talking about truce in the sky and at sea, we understand how to monitor that. But if we are talking about a full ceasefire — silence everywhere — considering whom we are dealing with and having years of experience, then we need technical assistance. Our partners have assured us of this, and this has been discussed by both sides. This is crucial," the President explained.
After such a step, the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire may be used, the head of state said.
"Prepare a complete plan to end the war. A step-by-step plan with security guarantees for the Ukrainian side. If all this is done, then after the preparation of this plan, in any case, a phased implementation that will lead to the end of the war. After the war is over, martial law will be lifted. After martial law is lifted, elections will be held. No one will deliberately postpone anything," Zelenskyy concluded.
