Ukraine does not recognise occupied territories as Russian, this is "red line" - Zelenskyy. VIDEO
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that recognizing the occupied territories as Russian is a "red line" for Ukraine.
He said this during a press conference with Finnish leader Alexander Stubb, Censor.NET reports.
"Any negotiations are a fragile opportunity to end the war. Especially when it comes to the Russians, who have so far demonstrated their unwillingness to end the war. As for the territories, this will probably be one of the most sensitive and difficult issues in the upcoming negotiations," the Head of State explained.
According to Zelenskyy, the first step is an unconditional ceasefire.
"Even if you have to go through some paths to get there, for example, silence in the sky, at sea. But it will still come to silence along the entire frontline. These are the right steps if we really want to end the war with a just peace. Then we will move on to other issues. Among them, I am sure, will be territorial issues.
For us, the red line is the recognition of the Ukrainian temporarily occupied territories as Russian. We will not go for it," the President stressed.
