Ukraine and the Federal Republic of Somalia have established diplomatic relations.
This was announced by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Censor.NET reports.
"The Antalya Diplomatic Forum is a great opportunity to meet with colleagues, including those from African countries. Ukraine is interested in strengthening ties and presence.
Today we have officially established diplomatic relations with Somalia. I have signed the relevant protocol with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia Ali Mohamed Omar," the statement said.
The parties also discussed ways to develop cooperation.
"Ukraine has been providing assistance to Somalia under the 'Grain from Ukraine' programme and is ready to continue strengthening food security. We appreciate Somalia's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity," the minister concluded.
