Zelenskyy and French Minister of Armed Forces Vautrin discussed military aid to Ukraine, strengthening air defence and supply of Mirage and Rafale aircraft. VIDEO

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Catherine Vautrin, Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs of France.

Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, according to Censor.NET.

What did they talk about?

As noted, the parties discussed Ukraine's needs for strengthening its defence:

  • military aid,
  • strengthening air defence with systems and missiles,
  • expansion of aviation with French Mirage and Rafale aircraft.

"It is important to maintain the stability of Ukraine's air defence against the backdrop of Russia's massive attacks on our energy sector," Zelenskyy said.

He also stressed that Ukraine is interested in the fastest possible implementation of joint projects within the framework of European initiatives, primarily SAFE.

Support for Ukraine

"I am grateful to the Minister for this first visit to Ukraine since her appointment, as well as to the President of France and all French people for their support of Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion," Zelenskyy added.
