President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Ukrainian skeleton racer, member of the Ukrainian national Olympic team Vladyslav Heraskevych, and his father, coach of the Ukrainian skeleton team Mykhailo Heraskevych.
The head of state announced this in a telegram, according to Censor.NET.
The president awarded Vladyslav Heraskevych with the Order of Freedom.
"Ukraine will have champions and Olympians. But the most important thing Ukraine has is Ukrainians. Those for whom the truth and memory of the athletes killed by Russia and who will never again be able to participate in sports competitions due to Russian aggression are important," Zelenskyy said.
He thanked the Heraskevychs for their stance, strength, and courage.
