They wanted to climb over fence to border with Slovakia: four draft evaders detained in Transcarpathia – SBGS. VIDEO

In Transcarpathia, border guards prevented an attempt to cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border by four draft-aged Ukrainian citizens illegally.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the State Border Guard Service (SBGS).

Details of the scheme

As noted, as the men approached the state border, their movement was captured by a video surveillance camera. A response group from the "Uzhhorod" department was immediately dispatched to the area, and the subsequent actions of the violators were tracked using a drone.

The men tried to find the optimal place to cross the border. Initially, they headed toward the "Uzhhorod" automobile checkpoint, planning to bypass it and enter Slovakia. However, noticing high barriers and a border patrol, they changed their route.

Later, they decided to climb over the fence of a residential complex located near the border.

Detention and suspicion

While attempting to determine exactly how to overcome the obstacle, they were detained by a border patrol.

The detainees were found to be residents of the Transcarpathian and Khmelnytskyi regions. They were taken to the border unit to draw up administrative materials under Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses ("Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine").

The cases will be transferred to the court, which will determine the punishment for each of the detainees.
