Largest Russian motorised assault in Sloviansk direction since start of year has been repelled, – 81st Airborne Brigade. VIDEO
The 81st Mechanised Brigade of the 7th Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces, together with neighbouring units, repelled the largest Russian motorised assault on the Sloviansk sector since the start of the year.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the brigade’s press centre.
The assault has been halted
As noted, the occupiers deployed 16 motorcycles, operating in several groups of 3-4 vehicles. The enemy hoped to break through the positions of the paratroopers and adjacent units.
"Thanks to timely detection and coordinated actions, the assault was halted, and the infantry, who had decided to dismount, were eliminated by Ukrainian troops," the statement reads.
What is the situation in the Sloviansk sector?
Overall, according to the brigade, the situation in the sector remains difficult; the enemy is constantly concentrating its forces and continues to attempt to occupy more advantageous positions in the Sloviansk sector for further advancement. To hinder the operations of our troops, the enemy is attempting to control key logistical routes, using remote-controlled mines and UAVs.
Despite the pressure, the soldiers of the 81st Brigade of the 7th Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces continue to identify and destroy the occupiers.
