National Police reveal details of shooting of police officers in Khmelnytskyi region. VIDEO
Details have emerged of the attack on law enforcement officers in the village of Terlivka in the Khmelnytskyi region. During an attempt to detain the offender, one police officer was killed, and another was wounded. The attacker managed to escape.

What is known?
According to preliminary information, a patrol police unit from Police Department No. 3 of the Khmelnytskyi District Police Department was pursuing a car whose driver had been stripped of the right to drive by a court ruling. The officers caught up with the offender in the village of Terlivka. He stopped and ran onto the grounds of his private house.
The police stopped near the yard and approached the gate. An investigative team was called to the scene. Seconds later, a burst of automatic gunfire rang out.
Shooter being searched for
- Police Captain Serhii Chornyi, an inspector with the patrol police response sector, was killed at the scene in the shooting.
- His partner, Senior Lieutenant Vladyslav Sandetskyi, managed to use his service weapon in response but was also wounded by gunfire. He is currently under medical supervision.
The attacker fled the scene. A search is underway. Criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. During an inspection of the scene, police found and seized an empty magazine for an automatic weapon and 5.45 mm shell casings in the yard of the house.
