Western allies are ready to support Ukraine for years, - Sunak

The West’s support for Kyiv may last for "years".
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak, Censor.NET informs with reference to ZN.ua.
According to him, Western allies of Ukraine are ready to support the country in the long-term conflict against Russia.
Rishi Sunak's statement on Tuesday came after the G7 summit in Japan over the weekend. Speaking at a defense conference in London, Sunak said that Russia's strategy is "waiting ... for people in the West to be tired, bored and not helping."
"We are currently talking with our allies about what long-term multilateral and bilateral security agreements we can conclude with Ukraine," said the British prime minister.
NATO members are expected to decide on the form of these agreements at a summit in Vilnius in July. Although the majority of NATO does not agree to the admission of Ukraine to the Alliance already this year, but the Western support of Kyiv has strengthened and more and more often there is talk of providing Western defense guarantees to Ukraine.
Sunak also said that Western pledges of long-term support are aimed both at giving Ukraine confidence in its ability to defend itself and at deterring Russia from continuing the war.
"The correct and only course of action for (Russia. - Ed.) is exit and termination of the conflict," Sunak said.
He added that Ukraine's counteroffensive had "every chance of success," saying that "it should be borne in mind that what Ukraine has been doing over the past year is a counteroffensive."
