Sullivan on Russian proposals for negotiations: All talks should start with full de-occupation of Ukraine and will not take place without Ukraine’s participation

Moscow puts forward unacceptable expectations when it invites other states to negotiate the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
This was stated by US Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, answering journalists' questions at a joint press conference with Andriy Iermak during his visit to Ukraine, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to "European truth".
First of all, Sullivan stressed that negotiations with Russia, if they ever take place, should be held with the participation of Ukraine.
"President Biden has made clear that the guiding principle of his policy throughout this conflict has been 'nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,' and that remains the case," he said.
In addition, according to the White House official, the conditions on which the Russians are ready to engage in dialogue are unacceptable, because in fact all conversations should begin with the complete de-occupation of Ukraine.
"All the signals that we hear from various officials from Russia, they start with the proposal that Russia keeps the territory that it took away from Ukraine by force. And it is not only me who considers such proposals unacceptable. It is unacceptable under the UN Charter," the US security adviser said.
Sullivan urged Russia to accept the fact that it will have to leave all the occupied territories: "The war can end very simply. Russia started it and Russia can end it by ending its attack on Ukraine and ending its occupation of Ukraine, and we believe it should do just that."
