Ukraine will investigate video with liquidated occupiers, - Stefanishyna

Ukraine is investigating a video that, according to Kremlin propagandists, allegedly shows Russian occupiers being shot and surrendered.

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna in a comment to The Associated Press noted that it is "very unlikely" that the short edited fragments reflect what Moscow claims, Censor.NET reports with reference to UNIAN.

"Of course, the Ukrainian authorities are investigating this video," Stefanishyna said.

Stefanyshyn noted that the Ukrainian forces were "absolutely not interested in anyone's "execution" and received a direct order to take "as many prisoners of war as possible" so that they could be exchanged for Ukrainian soldiers.

"Every potential executed Russian soldier is some Ukrainian who cannot be exchanged, so there is no spirit and logic here," she said.

Asked whether Ukraine would allow an international investigation, Stefanishyna said: "We'll see. There are no problems with that."

The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine called for further investigation.

"The monitoring mission is aware of this video and is studying it... We reiterate our call for all such allegations to be properly and promptly investigated by the appropriate authorities," the statement obtained by The Associated Press said.
