The Pentagon plans to review the process of training and maintenance of the systems by Ukrainians, as well as the legality of the transfer and its impact on US military readiness.
According to journalists, the US Department of Defense is already developing the parameters of the training program for the Ukrainian military, which is likely to take place in Germany. Under normal circumstances, the training can last more than 6 months.
Another US military officer told the Washington Post that Patriot will come from US warehouses, but not from operational units.
The Patriot system began to be created in 1963 as the main platform for air defense at medium and high altitudes. The latest improvement of the air defense system called PAC-3 is designed to defeat and destroy tactical ballistic missiles. In December 1981, the system was put into service. Patriot was used in particular during the Gulf War.
