Estonia will provide Ukraine with record package of military aid: howitzers, anti-tank weapons, and shells

The government of Estonia decided to provide military aid to Ukraine in the war with the Russian Federation in the amount of 113 million euros. The aid package will be a record, it will include howitzers, ammunition, artillery support vehicles, and grenade launchers.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to ERR.
After sending this batch of weapons to Ukraine, the total amount of military aid to Kyiv from Estonia will increase to 370 million euros or slightly more than one percent of Estonia's annual gross domestic product, the government said.
According to ERR, Estonia will transfer dozens of 155 and 122-millimeter howitzers to Ukraine, thousands of shells, trucks for their transportation, more than a hundred Carl-Gustav anti-tank grenade launchers, and more than a thousand ammunition for them.
"If Ukraine falls, freedom in the rest of the world will also be threatened. By helping Ukraine defend its independence, we are defending the right to freedom and democracy of all states, including Estonia," Prime Minister Kaya Kallas said in a press release.
"Russia's war against Ukraine has its price - the price we pay in euros, and the Ukrainians pay with their lives," she added.
Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur emphasized that Kyiv is in dire need of heavy weapons.
"Ukraine needs heavy weapons in order to maintain the initiative and confront Russia, which is preparing to restore its military power. The hardest battles are still ahead," said Pevkur, according to whom it is important for Estonia to set an example and thereby motivate other allies to provide assistance to Ukraine.
The government noted that the military aid to Kyiv does not reduce Estonia's defense capability, and the guns transferred to Ukraine will soon replace the Korean K9 self-propelled guns. In addition, security is provided by the presence of allies, in particular the recently deployed American HIMARS rocket launcher systems.
