Putin is losing control over Russian information space, internal struggle is going on in Kremlin - ISW

An internal confrontation is taking place between key members of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s inner circle.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Analysts recall that the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, stated that "the Kremlin cannot repeat the Stalinist approach to the creation of a modern analog of the Soviet information bureau for centralized control over the internal information space due to the struggle between undefined "elites".

The report indicates that Zakharova's words confirm previous assessments regarding the deterioration of the dynamics of the Kremlin regime and control over the Russian information space, and also make it clear:

- that there is a struggle in the Kremlin between key members of Putin's inner circle;

- that over time, Putin has largely ceded the Russian information space to various quasi-independent actors;

- that Putin is obviously unable to take decisive measures to restore control over the Russian information space.
