Zelensky on talks with Xi Jinping: I want to talk, but there was no offer to meet

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky did not receive any proposals from China regarding negotiations with Xi Jinping. But he conveyed through diplomatic channels to Beijing that he wants this dialogue.
This was stated by the head of state in an interview with the Japanese publication The Yomiuri Shimbun, Censor.NET informs with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
As the publication writes, with regard to China, which proposed its "peace plan" for the settlement of the conflict, Zelensky said that he had not received any proposals, added that he had asked Beijing for cooperation regarding the 10-point peace plan proposed by the Ukrainian side, and holding a meeting at the highest level.
The head of state expressed skepticism about China's 12-point proposal calling for a ceasefire and peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, noting that "respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity" should come first.
"I did not receive an offer from China to be a mediator. I did not receive an offer to meet. But I gave direct messages through diplomatic channels that I want to talk with Chinese leader Xi Jinping," Zelensky said.
